Matt Bell Joins Fellow P1 Driver Dion von Moltke
In DP at THE NJMP 250 Race will mark Matt Bell's Debut in the DP Class
Online, July 15, 2010 (Newswire.com) - Altamonte Springs, FL/- Matt Bell, one of the rising stars of GRAND-AM racing, currently in the Continental Tire Challenge Series for Stevenson Motorsports, will join the leading Rookie of the Year candidate Dion von Moltke in the #77 McDonalds/South African Airways/PR Newswire Doran Racing Ford Dallara this weekend in the NJMP 250 presented by Crown Royal at the New Jersey Motorsports Park at Millville, New Jersey. The race attracts record crowds of racing enthusiasts from across the Northeast. This will mark Bell's debut in the DP class with the opportunity to drive in large part based upon past performance. This opportunity was arranged for Bell through P1 Groupe, his professional motorsports management company.
Bell last year tied the Continental Tire Challenge Series record with 5 pole positions in one season. The streak for Bell has continued in 2010 as Bell has brought Camaro its first Pole Position and Podium since their return to racing sharing the #6 Sunoco Stevenson Camaro with co-driver Jeff Bucknum.
"P1 Groupe never ceases to amaze me in the caliber of driving opportunities they tab me to take on!" said Matt Bell. "The chance to drive a competitive DP car with a good friend, Dion Von Moltke, is fantastic. I have seen the Doran-Dallara team and am always impressed by the projected professionalism as seen from the outside âˆ' I can't wait to experience it firsthand! I've had the honor of racing alongside Dion in the past and am looking forward to working with him again this weekend. It was a quick deal, but it all came together as solidly as any other, all thanks to P1 Groupe." Dion von Moltke is equally excited for the opportunity to drive with Bell this weekend, and continue his first full season in the Daytona Prototype class. This has been a solid season for Dion with two Top-5 finishes, tying for the Rookie of the Year points lead, and setting the pace in the Trueman/Akin sessions in seven of the eight rounds in the 2010 racing season.
"I am really pumped for New Jersey!" said von Moltke. "I could not be more excited than to be driving with Matt Bell. Matt and I have become quite good friends during the racing weekends as we are both managed by P1 Groupe so I have been able to follow his amazing career quite closely. I have no doubt that he will be right up to speed in the PRNewswire/South African Airways/McDonald's Ford Dallara."
"After Daytona I said to myself I really need to step it up on all fronts and I have been working very hard to do exactly that. I am taking a new approach to my workout regiment including some runs in excess of 3 hours and I could not be physically or mentally in a better place right now so I am looking to get Kevin and everyone at Doran Racing on the podium before seasons end!" continued Dion.
Both the Team and Driver points' championships are still within reach for Doran Racing and von Moltke respectfully, which makes maximizing the opportunities each remaining race that much more important. This weekend should be both challenging and rewarding for Bell and von Moltke.
