Matthew P. Rupert, M.D., Joins Ascendant Neuro Nashville
Dr. Rupert joins the pain management team at Ascendant Neuro in Nashville. He will help provide pain relief treatments to patients who suffer from chronic pain.
Online, June 13, 2011 (Newswire.com) - Ascendant Neuro announced today that Matthew Rupert, M.D. has joined its consortium of world-class physicians at Ascendant Neuro Nashville. Dr. Rupert has extensive experience in both medicine and engineering-making him ideally suited to help advance Ascendant's mission to discover and provide innovative treatments to help patients living with chronic and debilitating pain.

Rupert joins Ascendant following tenures with Vanderbilt University's pain management program and Total Pain Care Mississippi. Rupert earned two undergraduate degrees in engineering from the University of Cincinnati and was actively involved with the development of biomedical devices while at the university-including groundbreaking projects with internationally renowned knee surgeon, Frank R. Noyes, M.D. and biomedical engineering researcher Frank S. Grood. He completed his medical doctorate at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas.
Rupert began his surgical residency at Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati and completed his training in anesthesia at the University of Tennessee in Memphis. Rupert also completed a fellowship in international pain management under esteemed physician Gabor B. Racz at Texas Tech University, and obtained the prestigious Fellow of Interventional Pain Practice at the World Institute of Pain.
