MaxVision, Rugged Portable Computers Ships MaxPac XL Portable Geospatial Workstations in Support of U.S. Army DCGS-A

Huntsville, Alabama, USA -- January 14, 2016 -- MaxVision Rugged Portable Computers LLC has announced that it has completed shipment of the initial 200 MaxPac XL portable Geospatial workstations to General Dynamics Mission Systems supporting the US Army's DCGS-A GWS workstation requirements.

“The MaxPac8261XL2 has become the new standard for the Army’s Distributed Common Ground System (DCGS-A), Geospatial Workstation (GWS)”, says Bruce Imsand, MaxVision Rugged Portable Computers' CEO.   The MaxPac8261XL2 workstation was chosen for the GWS by the DCGS-A Integrated Equipment Team out of Ft. Belvoir as a result of an intensive trade study. “With the MaxPac XL, the Army image analyst now has the most powerful, and most portable, geospatial workstation on the market.  This allows an analyst to roll in a single transit case, set up in only two minutes, operate in dirty, unconditioned, hostile environments from 0C to 50C, and reap the benefits of spacious 24.1” monitors at attractive COTS prices.”

*MIL STD 810G roller transit case providing protection from 48” drops, vibration, blowing rain dusk and -40 to 70C temperature extremes and 100% humidity.

The products were shipped to General Dynamics Mission Systems, which provides the final integrated system and worldwide support under the CHS-4 contract with the Army.
