May 15 Marks The 70th Anniversary Of The First Jet Powered Flight In Britain!

Datum Publishing, announced a few weeks ago the release of 'JET', the story of Sir Frank Whittle and the invention of the Jet Engine by John Golley

We, Datum Publishing, announced a few weeks ago the release of 'JET', the story of Sir Frank Whittle and the invention of the Jet Engine by John Golley. We as 'by default' publishers released the title as a consequence of acquiring the rights to the book with a view of pursuing the development of a motion picture about Sir Frank and his amazing story. The re-release included new pictures and an addendum by Ian Whittle (Sir Frank's son) discussing current views on the debate that rages around the German/British race to invent the engine in the 1930s. With this objective still the primary goal of the publishing team, today we announce the creation of a fund to finance the production of the film 'Jet'.

As the 70th anniversary approaches, the publishers have decided to set aside 20% of all income received by them via the sale of the book for this fund, effective immediately. The story of Sir Frank is one of the great Engineering achievements of Britain that has had monumental impact on the world and we hope the press and the public get behind the project to ensure this story is filmed and shown to the world.

Jet is available from Datum Publishing, Amazon, iBookstore and all good bookstores.
