Online, July 25, 2013 (Newswire.com) - In the warehouse, distribution center, or even on the manufacturing floor you need a solid ruggedized computer that can withstand not only the daily wear and tear of general use, but also that of accidents. Imagine, if you will, that you are up on a step trying to reach a box just over head to scan it for inventory. You are lost in your thoughts, just going through one box after another when the intercom beeps, tossing you out of your reverie and startles you. You lose your grip on the scanner, and it falls 2 meters (6 feet) to the ground. Normally, you'd think you'd shatter the delicate machine.
However, Motorola Solutions has recently come out with a new upgrade to it's model of rugged mobile computers, which sets the bar on toughness across the industry.
The MC9500 model, also know as Max Rugged, can withstand a truly staggering 1.8 meters (6 feet) without sustaining much more than a slight jarring. This model has been tested to withstand over 2,000 tumbles at 1 meter (3.2 feet). It comes with an IP67 sealing and can withstand condensation and environmental temperatures of -4F to 122F.
All the while it can take a beating, it is maintains it's efficiency with built in flexible wireless communication options. This includes 3.5G voice,MC9500_LG_US-EN.jpg Bluetooth capabilities, USB, WLAN a/b/g, and GPS navigational control. Beyond this, it has a 806MHz processor to run it's OS versions of Windows Modile. As for memory and storage, it has a 1GB flash memory and 256MB of RAM already equipped and ready for use as soon as it comes out of the box.
The laser is a key component, because without an accurate laser the work doesn't go by quickly and efficiently. The laser reader on the MC9500 model is both accurate and versatile with it's 1D laser and 2D imager and 3 megapixel autofocus camera.
