McBee Leadership to Speak on EMR Optimization, Hospice Compliance and M&A Forecast at the NAHC 2019 Home Care and Hospice Conference & Expo

​McBee leadership will present three educational sessions at the National Association for Home Care & Hospice (NAHC) 2019 Conference & Expo. The conference will take place on October 13-15 in Seattle, Washington.

Stavros Katsifis, McBee Consulting Manager, will present the session “System Conversion Preparation and Optimization,” on Sunday, October 13 at 4:00 p.m. This session will discuss how to prepare for a system conversion, surviving the go-live and the first 90 days and optimizing for ongoing use. It will also discuss project management needs to effectively manage the conversion while continuing to meet patient demands. Stavros brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise in healthcare financial management to home health and hospice agencies and has served in various interim management positions including Billing Manager and Revenue Cycle Director. He has worked with the multiple agencies’ leadership to install enhanced reporting and operational dashboards into their revenue cycle.

Dee Geray, RN, McBee Clinical Consulting Manager, will present the session “Hospice Long Length of Stay (LLOS) Compliance,” on Monday, October 14 at 11:30 a.m. This session will cover the basic factors that contribute to LLOS and identify the proper tools providers can utilize for tracking decline. The session will also cover the process of completing documentation reviews, factors in determining ongoing decline and terminality, and how to properly respond to a request for additional review. Dee has more than 20 years of experience working in the hospice industry. She has extensive expertise in hospice clinical compliance, case management, and leadership.

Mike Dordick, McBee President, will lead the panel discussion “The M&A Outlook: Today’s Trends and the Future Market,” on Monday, October 14, at 4:30 p.m. During this panel, industry leaders will share their own experiences with M&A strategy, as well as highlight M&A trends for both home health and hospice, deal “makers” and “breakers” if you are looking to acquire or merge, and what the future of M&A will look like based on current trends and pending regulatory changes. Mike will be joined by Kristopher Novak, Vice President – Mergers & Acquisitions at Amedisys Inc. and Brian Bruenderman, Partner at Stoneridge Partners.
