Online, July 18, 2010 (Newswire.com) - McKay Watches, maker of a line of patented magnifying watches today announced the launch of its new website www.mckaywatches.com. Having passed the sale of 100,000 watches the site is now offering unreleased versions of its popular iBeam watches with a built-in magnifying lens and LED flashlight.
The site carries the analog models sold through Eddie Bauer, REI, QVC and other catalogs and retailers and now offers solid stainless steel versions with Swiss parts movement in sizes ranging from 36mm to 44mm. A very popular version is the Symbols Watch that was done as gifts for speakers at the TED Conference. Recipients included Richard Branson, Bill Clinton, Paul Simon and Tracy Chapman. The company has also done watches for clients as diverse as the Pebble Beach Concours, Warner Brothers, the Marley Family, UPS and the World Series of Poker.
Originally designed as a useful tool for the over 40 crowd the watch has found acceptance as a fashionable timepiece. The watch was recently featured in the Raphael Saadiq video "It's a Shame" and is in the collection of watch aficionados like Jay Leno, Clint Eastwood and Arnold Schwartznegger.
The quality of these watches is what you would find in comparable timepieces selling for over $600 without these special features but you can now get them direct from the inventor/designer at one-third the price - but these remember these are limited editions.
