Medical Device Contract Manufacturer Adds Laser Cutting To Its Capabilities

Online, October 29, 2012 (Newswire.com) - Europlaz Technologies, a contract manufacturer and packager specialising in the medical and pharmaceutical industries based in Essex, UK, has added laser cutting of medical devices and medical device components to its services.

Precise laser cutting of complex medical devices takes place within ISO class 7 cleanrooms and is an added value service to complement extensive medical manufacturing capabilities.

Europlaz has invested in a Laserite laser cutter/engraving model LL 6040 with 30w air cooled system, 2"lens, coaxial air assisted, with on board pump. This machine has been introduced for an existing contract but is available for additional contract work within a cleanroom environment. Medical manufacturing has taken place on the Europlaz site in Southminster, Essex for over 40 years. Today Europlaz has four high specification cleanrooms with skilled injection moulding and assembly services for surgical, orthopaedic, diagnostic and implantable devices.

Certified to ISO 13485:2003 standard, the company applies a range of processes in medical device assembly, including ultra-sonic welding, RF welding and skilled assembly.

Various options for high quality packaging of the finished products are available, including custom formed trays, four side seal pouches and aseptic liquid filling.

From the earliest stages of product development, the in-house team works with clients to determine the most effective and efficient strategies for each phase of the tooling, molding, assembly and packaging process, and can also consult on process validation, sterilization and supply chain management.
