MERS Goodwill Announces New and Improved Hannibal Store Location
Suite 505, September 30, 2014 (Newswire.com) - MERS Goodwill, known for its thrifty retail shops, employment services and job placements in the community, will host a grand opening of its new 14,400 square foot location in Hannibal. The store will feature a new donation drive-through that will make donating an even easier and quicker process. The ribbon cutting ceremony will take place on Thursday, October 2, at 8:50 a.m. at 3503 Stardust Drive in Hannibal, Missouri, 63401.
“At MERS Goodwill, we’re always listening to and addressing the needs of the community,” said Lewis C. Chartock, Ph.D., President and CEO of MERS Goodwill. “We saw a need for a new location and donation drop off drive-through, which provides a much greater experience for both donors and shoppers in the Hannibal area.”
The grand opening weekend kicks off Thursday with an official ribbon cutting ceremony where residents are encouraged to stop by and help celebrate the Hannibal store re-opening. Visitors will enjoy the first peek of more than 10,000 square feet of retail area as doors open just before 9 a.m.
Revenue raised through the sale of MERS/Goodwill donations goes back to the community, funding vocational rehabilitation and employment programs for individuals who have barriers to employment through disability or economic disadvantage.
The previous Hannibal store location at 200 Steamboat Suite D, will be closing its doors at the end of business on Saturday, September 27. The new store will be open Monday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The Hannibal store re-opening continues a retail growth spurt for the agency, as MERS Goodwill plans to expand services and retail operations in the bi-state area in 2014. New stores include University City; Forest Park; O’Fallon, Missouri; and Poplar Bluff, Missouri.
