Metal Shredder Xander Demos Nominated For Best Guitarist

Online, December 2, 2011 (Newswire.com) - The nominees for the 2011 Iron City Rocks Music Awards have been formally announced, and MTS Management would like to congratulate Xander Demos on his Best Guitarist nomination.

In a year that included appearances on The Real Radio Show (NYC,) Steve Vai's GuitarTV.com, countless podcasts and blogs, reviews and interviews on top metal and guitar sites, and as an opener for headliners like Kip Winger, Dio Disciples, Lizzy Borden and Neil Zaza, Xander is fast becoming one of the most respected guitarists on the metal scene. His music will be appearing on no less than 3 compilation discs, including the highly anticipated release by Liberty N Justice, "The Cigar Chronicles," alongside guitar greats like George Lynch (Dokken) and Jeff LaBar (Cinderella.) The other discs include Raging Storm Records shred compilation, "Night Of The Living Shred" and a Metal Monthly download compilation. Other nominees for Best Guitarist include Nick Cantanese (Black Label Society,) Danny Corso (Sacred Dominion,) Anthony Leone (Chip Dominick) and Nathan Werner (Moon Drag.) Xander is the only instrumental guitarist nominated. This is his first nomination.

The Iron City Rocks Music Awards recognizes Pittsburgh-area musicians and their accomplishments. Additional categories include Best Rock Band, Best Metal Band, Best Drummer, Best Bass Player, Best Vocalist, and Best Venue, among others.
