Meter Solutions Pros Named #1 among Utah Student 25

The Utah Student 25 Awards recognize the achievements of today's student entrepreneurs, the businesses they have created, and their economic impact.

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah -Utah Student 25 today announced 2009 winners recognizing the achievements of top student entrepreneurs, the businesses they have created, and their economic impact. To an audience of more than 300 at the Grand America Hotel in Salt Lake City Utah Student 25 announced Meter Solutions Pros, a provider of automated metering systems to gas, water, and electric utilities across the western U.S., as the top student founded and run business in the State.

"Utah's economic resilience depends heavily on the state's entrepreneurial leadership celebrated by the Utah Student 25," stated Utah Governor Gary Herbert. 2009 Utah Student 25 finalist companies employ more than 100 workers and collectively produce $3.9 million in annual revenue. They include female and male entrepreneurs averaging 25 years of age, speaking 11 different languages. They currently attend Brigham Young University, University of Utah, Utah State University, Utah Valley University, Weber State, and Westminster College. Their businesses represent diverse industries including manufacturing, fitness, healthcare, services, construction, hi-tech, and finance, among others. The Utah Student 25 selects businesses based on revenue growth and profitability.
