Meyers Research | Builder Event Raises $60,000 for HomeAid

National Housing Outlook Event Provides Funds to Fight Homelessness

2020 National Housing Outlook Breakfast held in Las Vegas, NV, in January

HomeAid America was the beneficiary of the generosity of Meyers Research, one of its top national partners and leading market research firms, at the Builder | Meyers Research National Housing Outlook that was held in Las Vegas during the International Builders Show (IBS) on Feb. 22. The event raised over $60,000 for the national nonprofit organization whose mission is to end homelessness through housing, outreach and awareness.

The National Housing Outlook event had more than 300 in attendance, including featured industry leaders on a Builder panel moderated by Tim Sullivan, Managing Principal at Meyers Research that included Mike Forsum, Chief Operating Office at Landsea Holding Corporation, Ronda Conger, Vice President of CBH Homes, Liesel Cooper, Regional President, Western and Mountain Region of Century Communities, and Ricarda Dietch, Division President of Taylor Morrison. Attendees also heard from Mark Boud, Senior Vice President and Chief Economic of Builder | Meyers Research as he delivered a comprehensive industry analysis and economic forecast.

Meyers Research has held housing forecast events to benefit HomeAid America across the country for the past five years, and after this, their 15th such event, has now raised nearly $700,000 for HomeAid. Support from Meyers Research continues at a pivotal time as HomeAid recognizes its 30th anniversary and celebrates the success of completing over 900 projects that have housed more than 365,000 people who would have otherwise been homeless.

“Supporting HomeAid and its ongoing effort is an honor,” said Jeff Meyers, CEO of Meyers Research. “At Hanley Wood Meyers Research, we are committed to doing our part by helping raise funds through specific initiatives like our National Housing Outlook event to push HomeAid’s mission across our industry.”

HomeAid America CEO Scott Larson said, “HomeAid truly values its long-time partnership with Meyers Research, and it was exciting to be a part of such an incredible event at IBS and to be able to be engaged with building industry leaders. With the support of Jeff Meyers and his incredible team, HomeAid is able to, through its 20 chapters nationwide, continue its mission of ending homelessness for families and individuals.”

HomeAid’s program identifies impactful organizations working to end homelessness that are in need of additional facilities in which to house people. HomeAid’s builder captains and their partners and suppliers take on these projects, completing them at a deep discount through the in-kind donation of their time and materials. Through the HomeAid model, more than $256 million of housing has been developed with a cost savings of over $120 million. These cost-savings are reinvesting into life-changing programs such as job and life skills training, financial counseling, and physical and emotional support needed to get back on their feet.

Proceeds were generated by ticket sales and sponsorships by Cornerstone Building Brands, Stone Solutions Business, Housing Capital Company, a subsidiary of U.S. Bank, loanDepot, Bassenian Lagoni, Builders FirstSource, First American Title Company, Fidelity National Title Group and GE Appliances.
