Miami County Iron Bridge Festival/Canoe Rally

Online, June 7, 2010 (Newswire.com) - For more than twenty years the iron bridges in Indiana have been torn down one by one. Today only a precious few remain.

Join us June 19, 2010 for The Miami County Iron Bridge Festival. Our festival consists of a canoe rally, hog roast, and great live entertainment. This year's festival will be on the Eel River, beginning at the Stockdale Mill in Roann.

Our day starts at 9:00 am with the launching of our canoe rally. Paddlers from all over Indiana come to canoe the beautiful Eel River and get a river rat's view of the Butler Bridge and the Lost Bridge. (Trip time: approximately 5-6 hours)

Bring your own canoe or rent one from Miller's Cool Running Canoe Rental. Your family will enjoy every minute of the trip no matter what your experience level. There are check points along the way and transportation from Denver back to the Stockdale Mill is provided. Upon returning to the mill, guests will enjoy a hog roast and live music from 3-5pm.

If canoeing is not for you, we have a driving tour map available that will take you to our Iron Bridges (about a 1 hour drive). Then feel free to come back and enjoy the hog roast and live music.

Everyone is welcome, even if you just want to come to eat and sing along with the band!
