We listen to politicians that are running for office to see if they would be friendly toward injured workers or if they would push bills that continue to benefit the insurance companies and employers.

With 25 years dedicated to law, Rott brings a wealth of knowledge to his industry, and, in particular, to his area of specialization, workers’ compensation law. When asked why he decided to pursue a career in law, Rott said:
"When I was thirteen, I won a writing contest on why I wanted to be a page, which is a legislative assistant. For one day, I became an honorary page at the Georgia General Assembly for a wonderful State Representative, Ewell H. “Hank” Elliott, Jr. Hank was extremely kind, very knowledgeable, and unbelievably charismatic. He took me to a caucus meeting where I met Sam Nunn, Jr., who, at the time, was a U.S. Senator from Georgia. This tremendous opportunity, really opened my eyes to the law, and since that time I had wanted to become a lawyer."
As the managing partner of Hiden, Rott & Oertle, LLP, Rott represents clients throughout California and across the United States in matters involving serious injuries both on and off the job, as well as in consumer product class action lawsuits. Today, he is known for his ability to handle the most complex workers’ compensation cases. He is often sought out by people, who have been to other lawyers after suffering catastrophic injuries, but haven’t received the results they were looking for.
As a thought leader in his field, Rott is a highly influential speaker and writer. He was a guest speaker at the National Structured Settlements Trade Association Annual Meeting and has given legal seminars to the California Teachers Association, as well as dozens of other Labor Unions. Additionally, he has written numerous articles for publications such as the San Diego Lawyer Magazine and The Guild Reporter – Communications Workers of America, and also authored The Employee’s Workers’ Compensation Handbook for CWA, Local 9509.
Rott has also been interviewed by NBC, Law 360, The Suit, and other national media outlets on labor issues and legal trends. Commenting on his strategy for staying ahead of the curve, he notes:
"I keep a close watch on what laws are coming down the pike to try to anticipate changes that might affect our clients. We listen to politicians that are running for office to see if they would be friendly toward injured workers or if they would push bills that continue to benefit the insurance companies and employers."
Beyond his legal career, Rott is also a licensed California Real Estate Broker and the Founder of Union Real Estate, a real estate brokerage firm which provides representation to clients in sales and acquisition of residential and commercial properties.
