Michael Lushing of Lushing Realty Advisors Speaks on Retail Real Estate in LA at Loyola Law School

Commercial real estate professional Michael Lushing spoke on "Inside of Retail Real Estate" to students enrolled in Loyola Law School's Fashion Law Summer Intensive Program

Michael Lushing, principal of Lushing Realty Advisors, spoke recent on the "Inside of Retail Real Estate" to the students enrolled in the Fashion Law Summer Intensive Program at Loyola Law School, Los Angeles at Loyola Law School, Los Angeles.

Mr. Lushing is a third generation Los Angeles real estate professional.  His expertise is focused on working with regional, national and international retailers' regional and national expansion plans and strategies. He also represents landlords looking to fill space with quality retailers that match the merchandising ambiance of their centers.

Recently Mr. Lushing represented MUJI with their first two Southern California locations, its flagship store in Hollywood and its second location in Santa Monica; Pussy and Pooch with their flagship Beverly Hills lifestyle pet boutique; Catimini with their first Los Angeles location in Beverly Hills; and My Gym with several new locations and relocations in Southern California.

The Fashion Law Summer Intensive program was on the Loyola Law School’s downtown LA campus. The weeklong program – geared toward lawyers, designers, design students, fashion entrepreneurs and executives – is focused on the fundamentals of fashion law as well as the legal and business components of brand building. The program is part of the school’s Fashion Law Project.

The course consisted of an overview of fashion law so participants share a common knowledge and it immerses students into the nuts and bolts of brand building. Program activities included field trips to LA fashion landmarks. To accommodate working professionals, weekday classes will be held in the evening. MCLE credit will be available.

The faculty included alumna Staci Jennifer Riordan, executive director of The Fashion Law Project and partner and chair of the Fashion Law Practice Group at Fox Rothschild LLP; Adjunct Professor Deborah Greaves, former general counsel of True Religion Brand; other top practitioners; fashion industry professionals; and branding experts.

Mr. Lushing graduated from Beverly Hills High School, earned his BA in Journalism, Radio TV Film, Speech Communications at California State University-Northridge, and recently obtained his Master’s Degree in Psychology from Antioch University. His memberships include  All Cites Real Estate Group, Los Angeles Luxury Marketing Council, Beverly Hills Chamber of Commerce, International Council of Shopping Centers, and he is a Board Member of Beverly Hills Rotary.  He is also on the Boards of Directors of The Maple Counseling Center of Beverly Hills and The Forgotten Dog Foundation.
