Previously, Michael served as President of IST Research, Chief Executive Officer of Aptima, and was a Staff Member at MIT Lincoln Laboratory. An Industrial and Organizational Psychologist by training, Dr. Paley's professional career focused on human-centered design and working to improve operational performance in high-risk settings, including mission command, special operations, intelligence and cyber operations centers, transportation, and medicine. As the technology central to these and other settings evolved to incorporate greater autonomous and robotic capabilities, his work sought to consider the human role in these systems.
