Microland Appoints NAM as Chief People Officer

Online, May 5, 2011 (Newswire.com) - Microland (www.microland.com), India's leading provider of IT Infrastructure Management Services, today announced the appointment of PNSV Narasimham (NAM) as Executive Vice President and Chief People Officer. NAM will be based at Microland's corporate office in Bangalore and will be responsible for overall HR, training, development and recruitment functions of Microland.

NAM brings with him 20+ years of rich experience in establishing, growing and stabilizing Human Resources functions in large organizations.

Prior to joining Microland, he was Global Head for Leadership Initiatives at Cognizant reporting to the Chief People Officer. In this role, he anchored key initiatives in Leadership Development, Leadership Strategy Framework and Capability building for Cognizant worldwide.

NAM joined Cognizant through the UBS acquisition in 2009, where he played a key role as COO of the India Service Centre, as well as the Group Offshoring Head of Human Resources, responsible for people processes in the India and European Delivery Centers. He has experience of setting up the India Delivery Center in Hyderabad as well as the Poland Delivery Centre in Krakow. In his COO role, he led the integration efforts of UBS India Center to Cognizant, leading 7 enabling functions, including HR, Finance, Legal, Procurement, Internal Communications, Operational Risk, Facilities and BCP. He joined UBS in 2005 as the second employee; contributing to the growth of the entity to over 2500 high-end research, analytics and Operations professionals.

He has about two decades of people systems experience in manufacturing, telecom and IT/ITES - the first 10 years in large Indian firms and an equal number in multinational firms and has worked across HR initiatives in Asia Pacific, Europe and the US, in Operational, Leadership and Consulting roles.
