Microsoft Dynamics NAV Still The Powerhouse Of The Dynamics Family
Microsoft Dynamics NAV, Microsoft Business Solution's ERP solution for the Small to Medium Business (SMB) sector continues to lead the Dynamics family with new customer adds and breaks the 100,000 organisation mark for the first time.
Online, March 14, 2014 (Newswire.com) - Every year around this time Microsoft Dynamics Convergence creates a lot of buzz and new product offerings, solution updates and news from Microsoft on the performance of Dynamics. 2014 is no different delivering exciting news on the sales performance of Dynamics. Microsoft Business Solutions division executive vice president, Kirill Tatarinov showcased a 10% revenue growth for Microsoft Dynamics in 2013.
Microsoft grew its customer base by 6.7 percent overall in the last year according to a report on website ERPSoftwareBlog (http://www.erpsoftwareblog.com/2014/03/how-many-companies-use-microsoft-dynamics-erp/), that compares year on year growth figures for Dynamics (see table below). Microsoft has confirmed the figures, which show varied growth points and rates of change.

Microsoft Dynamics NAV 102,000 94,000 8.5% 667
Microsoft Dynamics GP 47,000 43,000 9.3% 333
Microsoft Dynamics CRM 40,000 39,000 2.6% 83

The most noticeable positive performance is in the Small to Medium Business, ERP space, with NAV being the standout performer adding approximately 8,000 new customers in the last year, representing an 8.5% increases and breaking the 100,000 installs barrier. "These numbers would represent over 660 new adds per month for NAV worldwide. When we discuss install base and the R&D budget NAV commands because of it, it reassures our customers that the financial management, HR and Payroll solutions we implement, which are based on the NAV platform, will be supported and developed far into the future" says Altus Dynamics CEO, Colin Dickinson.
Dynamics GP and NAV are seeing a growing rate of cloud deployments, whether privately hosted or on Windows Azure. "That particular segment of our portfolio has grown 40 percent in the last year. There is a need and a desire to grow cloud ERP and we're there with a solution that is very well liked and received." says Tatarinov.
One of the most surprising results is the lower levels of growth of Dynamics CRM as it has been a strong performer in terms of customer adds over the last number of years, with well over 30 consecutive quarters of double digit growth. "I am a little surprised as we have found the opposite. We've seen very strong interest in the market for CRM due to a pent up demand for a highly flexible contact management solution" says Dickinson. "The low numbers for AX are understandable however, due to the Enterprise level at which it is pitched and the larger cost of their implementations."
