Nov 26, 2009 Bhubaneswar- Mindfire Solutions launched its in-house Knowledge and Learning Management System today. KLMS, as it is popularly known as, would serve as the knowledge dissemination portal which is a necessity of this modern world. We live and work in a higly competent, networked knowledge society. To survive and thrive, organization must ultimately engender a knowledge culture by grappling with information and knowledge management, developing expertise and understanding of knowledge concepts, and providing technologically accessible systems along with the associated tools and resources.
Knowledge-sharing networks and self-organizing communities of interest and practice are becoming commonplace, but little is known about how these fit into the larger institutional knowledge picture or the institution's sense of itself as a community. A learning management system is now used not only to implement an organization's learning development but also to measure and report on training delivery, ensure employee compliance, automate reporting and tracking, as well as deliver assessment and testing. KLMS is an meticulous attempt by Mindfire Solutions to quantify and measure knowledge sharing effectiveness.
Senior Officials Of Mindfire Solutions were available to comment on the launch of KLMS. According to them, KLMS is a system for managing knowledge and learning, developed in keeping with Mindfire's vision of a world-class organization with an enriched and thriving knowledge culture. "KLMS is used for Creating, archiving, sharing and searching of knowledge by all employees at MindFire Solutions . It also involves Administration, conduction & evaluation of Tests and reporting of results for internal (self-assessment) and external (recruitment & selection) purposes", Anurup Gaurav, Team Lead at Mindfire Solutions said.
In its beta release, four modules are made live: LearningMatter (LMs),Questions,Tests, Courses. LM is a HTML Tutorial with which the employees can create their own web pages. This tutorial teaches them everything from basic HTML to intrinsic details. The Question Module would provide a platform for discussion on various technologies and skills used by Mindfire Solutions. It would not only help the employees to get familiarized more and more with the organisational culture but also share the vision and growth plans of their organization. The various tests and courses would help to improve the knowledge of the employees about the company as a whole . It would also encourage employee interaction within the organisation.
