Miokay UG today announced it has added its award-winning Miokay™ app (pronounced "Am I Okay") to the U.S. iTunes App Store.
THE APP: Miokay™ is an emergency application software that transforms your iPhone into a mobile security device. The iPhone application provides timely notifications to trusted contacts in potentially dangerous situations.
Miokay™ when first opened asks you for up to five of your top trusted contacts' phone numbers and e-mails.
Should you ever feel threatened or at risk, simply open the app and you will be prompted with a 60-second countdown timer "Touch Mode." Tap anywhere on the timer screen within the 60 seconds to restart the timer and no alarm will sound. If in imminent danger, slide the alarm bar for a ten second countdown followed by immediate dispatch.
After the 60-seconds are up or upon sliding the alarm bar, an e-mail and phone call with your exact location is sent to your first emergency contact. The call server automatically detects whether a person is busy or if the mailbox answers. Should they not answer, the next contact you have listed is immediately notified.
Even if your phone is dropped or smashed entirely, the app will automatically notify your emergency contact(s) with your exact location. Nine free calls are available for use - thereafter, additional calls may be purchased within the app under the 'Top Up' menu option.
