Mirasys brings an added touch to video surveillance

Introducing touch-screen capabilities to its comprehensive range of networked IP video surveillance hardware, Mirasys launches Mirasys Touch and the compact Mirasys N500

London - December 7th, 2009 Mirasys Ltd, a leading provider of open platform digital CCTV and video surveillance solutions, has today announced the availability of two new networked IP recorders: Mirasys Touch and Mirasys N500. Mirasys Touch is the company's first recorder with a touch-screen interface and is the first Windows 7 enabled recorder to be released on the market. Mirasys N500 combines the latest innovations in an entry level product available.

Specifically developed for smaller surveillance installations, Mirasys Touch is ideal for systems with eight or fewer cameras. Running on Windows 7, the recorder hardware is completely integrated into its LCD touchscreen monitor, making the recorder one of the smallest on the market. The compact device can be positioned on a wall or desk like any standard monitor and its basic use does not require a mouse or keyboard, offering full touch-screen capabilities.

"Mirasys Touch is the CCTV industry's first Windows 7-based video recorder and is also Mirasys' entry into the world of touch-screen interfaces," explained Marco Ylä-Kojola, Sales Director at Mirasys. "As touch-screen technology and reliability have evolved, the demand for a touch-screen based recorder has increased dramatically. Mirasys Touch is the perfect recorder for any company seeking an effective security system that does not interfere with the company's day-to-day business."

Also announced today, the N500 expands Mirasys' product portfolio at the entry-level end of the surveillance market. Mirasys N500 benefits from a fully wireless connection combined with an extremely compact chassis measuring just 222mm (W) x 178mm (H) x 26,9mm (D), which offers a functionality that is unique at this level. The N500 utilises the full features of Mirasys NVR Enterprise, the most comprehensive software on the market. "N500 is the perfect solution for small businesses, warehouses, kiosks and ATMs," says Ylä-Kojola. "It is a unique recorder in its class. No other entry level recorder combines its small size with the extensive functionality provided by our software."

Jukka Riivari, chief executive of Mirasys said, "The introduction of these products at both the high end and entry-levels of the market demonstrates Mirasys' continued commitment to driving innovation throughout its growing product range. With the CCTV market expected to see continued growth, 2010 is an ideal time for Mirasys to maintain the expansion of its hardware offerings."
