Misquamicut SpringFest Brings Non-Stop Fun to a Beautiful Location
The 2011 Misquamicut Spring Festival at Misquamicut State Beach is a first of its kind and a mecca for family fun. Music Headliners include John Cafferty, J. Geils, and Tommy Cash.
Online, May 4, 2011 (Newswire.com) - Kick off the 2011 beach season with surf, sun, sand and family entertainment. The 2011 Misquamicut Spring Festival at Misquamicut State Beach is a first of its kind and a mecca for family fun. Brought to this beautiful part of Westerly by The Misquamicut Business Association, the Misquamicut SpringFest kicks off a jam-packed weekend of live entertainment and fun on Friday, May 13th at 5 PM with a performance by John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band at 7pm and a world-class fireworks display at 9:30pm. From then, until 5pm Sunday, the Springfest features high-gear entertainment and activities for the whole family!
Besides a full line-up of entertainment, the SpringFest features an outdoor international food court and beer and wine garden, a chock-full midway of rides and games, a petting zoo and pony rides, a Classic Car Cruise, a NASCAR racing car, and a home, garden and vacation area.

Something for Everyone
Over 25 New England food vendors will be on hand to serve local festival favorites from lobster to sausage and peppers, fried dough, kettle corn and BBQ dishes. In addition, over 40 crafters and commercial vendors will sell their wares. Kids can enjoy henna tattoos, hair wraps, and face painting while adults can enjoy local beers at The Beer & Wine Garden on the Salt Pond at Paddy's Beach.
Continuous Music
An array of local bands will keep the tunes flowing by providing non-stop music, while national headliners take the stage daily. Caswell Cooke brings major headliners to the spacious Newport Fed Music Tent including John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band; the debut of Nashville's up and coming Erica Nicole; a complete performance of the Beatles album "A Hard Day's Night" by the Jeff Ross Band; Grammy nominated 70's star, John Ford Coley; Tommy Cash, the brother of the late great Johnny Cash; and guitarist J.Geils who will be taking his turn at the blues and some of his own hits with the backing of Jeff Pitchell and Texas Flood.
Non-stop Family Fun
Walk the midway of world-class rides including the Ferris Wheel, Scrambler, kiddie rides and games. Little ones can visit the Circle K Petting Zoo, enjoy pony rides, and the Save The Bay educational marine Touch Tank. They can even enjoy a special obstacle course with Kids on the Go.
