Missouri Botanical Garden Launches New Visitor Experience Developed in Partnership with SteadyRain
SteadyRain announces the launch of a kiosk and online tours solution for Missouri Botanical Garden that delivers a new kind of visitor experience.
Online, December 4, 2013 (Newswire.com) - SteadyRain, St. Louis-based Internet strategy, development and online marketing firm, proudly announces the completion of a kiosk and online tours solution for the Missouri Botanical Garden that delivers a new kind of visitor experience at the Garden.
SteadyRain worked with Missouri Botanical Garden to develop a kiosk solution providing tour information to visitors to the Garden. The kiosks, called MyGuides, is available to visitors within the Ridgway Visitor Center and provides visitors the ability to browse a range of tours by interest area on-screen and can provide a printed overview of tours selected right from the kiosk. The solution allows visitors to learn more about the Garden, plan tours and print custom tour information and maps based on their specific areas of interest.
SteadyRain has extended the reach of the MyGuides kiosk solution to the Web, through development of a responsive design, making the same MyGuides content available either on-location or from home on a desktop computer or tablet.
"When visitors are invited and equipped to explore based on their own personal interests and curiosities, not only will they enjoy their visit more, they'll learn more," said Jennifer Wolff, the Garden's Manager of Interpretation. "This is all about putting visitors in the driver's seat of their own experience and letting them get the most out of every visit."
MyGuides is managed within the organization's current DNN Evoq Content CMS solution to allow for uncomplicated content updates and direct integration with the advanced Event modules created by SteadyRain for the Garden. By integrating MyGuides into the current CMS tool, Missouri Botanical Garden can enhance visitor experience without adding time-consuming content updates or additional system training for its staff.
"The MyGuides project has evolved over nearly a two-year project lifetime," said Thompson Knox, SteadyRain President. "The completion of this first phase of the project is very exciting. Based on feedback from MyGuides users, both virtual and in-person at the Garden, continued direction for the solution will include further expanding the interactivity within the kiosk interface, additional sharing of information between the kiosk and remote view of the tours and even considerations for user generated content. We look forward to helping the Garden grow this new asset to all visitors."
Visitors to the Missouri Botanical Garden can utilize the kiosk, located on the second floor of the Ridgway Visitor Center, near the main entrance to the Garden itself, to select from an array of tour experiences currently available. For those wishing to learn more from home, they can visit MyGuides online at http://www.missouribotanicalgarden.org/My-Guides.aspx, select a unique tour and print a MyGuides tour for their next visit.
The Missouri Botanical Garden's mission is "to discover and share knowledge about plants and their environment in order to preserve and enrich life." Today, 154 years after opening, the Missouri Botanical Garden is a National Historic Landmark and a center for science, conservation, education and horticultural display.
