Online, June 7, 2012 (Newswire.com) - SteadyRain, a full-service digital agency located in St. Louis, Missouri, announces a mobile web development project with the Missouri Botanical Garden. As a premiere travel destination for the state of Missouri, the move to create a mobile site was seen as the natural next step in development.
The Missouri Botanical Garden re-imagined their digital landscape with SteadyRain, and at the end of 2011, the Garden's online audience was introduced to a user friendly website that featured enhanced navigation and a cohesive site that spoke to the multitude of Garden audiences.
As the inaugural year of the Garden's award-winning web redevelopment comes to a close, it was important for the Missouri Botanical Garden to provide an additional way for all visitors to easily locate important information while on the go.
"The beginning of our festival season started with the opening of the Lantern Festival, and we anticipated having many visitors, both new and returning, who would expect to be able to access information on their mobile phones," said Liz Fathman, Publications Manager, Missouri Botanical Garden. "That provided the push to have the mobile site ready by mid-May. Although we set a rapid pace-three months from concept to completion-the end result is a user-friendly, attractive mobile site that reflects the quality and high standards we applied to the full website."
Currently, many visitors access the Garden's main site from a mobile device, and with the 2012 Lantern Festival underway, the anticipated traffic to the Garden's website is expected to rise exponentially. Therefore, the need to provide a mobile optimized site that will work across several mobile platforms, such as Android and iPhone, was apparent.
The Missouri Botanical Garden recognizes the growth in mobile device usage as well as the importance of leveraging technology to provide up-to-date relevant information to visitors.
"We are extremely pleased with the outcome of this mobile website project," said Eric Baggett, Director of Online Marketing. "Working with the Garden's team, we were able to develop a mobile experience that is unique and intuitive, while echoing important elements of the full version of the website."
