MOAA/Corporate Gray Host D.C.'s Largest Free Career Fair for Military Members and Their Spouses
Online, September 24, 2010 (Newswire.com) - Alexandria, Va. - Active duty, retired, former, Reserve/National Guard servicemembers and their spouses are invited to attend a free career fair with approximately 100 employers, career-development seminars, and onsite resume critiques in Washington, D.C., Sept. 29.
The largest military-focused and free career fair in Washington, D.C., is hosted by the Military Officers Association of America (MOAA), an organization known for its 58-year-old program to assist officers and warrant officers in their transition from the military to civilian careers, and Corporate Gray. The career fair is open to all enlisted grades and spouses as well as officers.
The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. (seminars begin at 8 a.m.) at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Hall D (formerly the Washington D.C. Convention Center). The center is at 801 Mt. Vernon Place, N.W., at the Mount Vernon Square/Convention Center Metro stop.
Employers from approximately 100 regional and national companies will look for people potential employees in virtually every job skill. Businesses and organizations attending include MPRI, IBM, Grant Thornton Global Public Sector, Lockheed Martin Corp., TSA, EG&G, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, educational institutions, financial institutions, and many more.
Several free, 60-minute pre- career fair transition seminars - How to Work a Job Fair, The Interview: Rules of Engagement-Your Compelling Story, and Federal Job Application Preparation - will be held from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. and from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Two afternoon seminars - Evaluating Employer Benefits and Post-9/11 GI Bill - will be held from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. respectively.
