"Mom's Europe Not My Daughter's Europe" To Highlight Chief Diversity Officer (CDO) Thought Leader Gathering in London

Chief Diversity Officers are coming together in London April 16-17 for a thought-leading venue on European trends impacting diversity and inclusion. It is the next event in True Blue Inclusion's idea sharing series for diversity professionals.

The upcoming April, 2013 Chief Diversity Officer (CDO) meeting of True Blue Inclusion members in London, UK includes a seminar that will vividly contrast generational change in Europe. Titled "My Mother's Europe is Not My Daughter's Europe," the session will bring corporate leaders of gender initiatives together to talk candidly with US and European CDO's about changes to the European workplace over the past two generations.

"As with many places around the globe, Europe today is a very changed experience for women in the workforce," observed Catherine M. Smith, Managing Partner of True Blue Inclusion. "The political, social and technology trends that energize the business environment for women worldwide play out in unique ways for European-based enterprises. Our invited thought leaders will talk precisely to that point based on their own business and personal experiences in European countries and around the globe."

The full meeting, "Global Thought Leadership," is managed to surface actionable insights for participating diversity and inclusion professionals. Other topics to be addressed by thought leading speakers include the interrelated global economic web, public-private partnering, managing across cultural differences and the many impacts of Internet technology on workforces. The meeting is scheduled for April 16 and 17 in a central London location.

Commenting about the agenda, Smith said, "The people we bring together are not the crowd diversity and inclusion practitioners usually see. We bring our members into contact with people who shape ideas and policy, and we discuss ideas instead of regulations. This meeting in London is a fully global venue, an occasion for US and European diversity leaders to understand similarities and define the differences in how they approach their work an ocean apart. For most people there, this will be a first time to do that."

"We are serious about enhancing the Chief Diversity Officer's knowledge, network and experience," said Smith. "Our members believe that it's essential to see and feel the international environment at a real, practical, lesson-building level. And to do that, one simply has to be there. You have to be an engaged part of the global environment to appreciate nuances in diversity and inclusion that are not necessarily a part of what happens here in the US.

By design, True Blue Inclusion builds expertise of a wide array of business topics among its diversity and inclusion leader members. Members have gained hands-on knowledge about branding, economic management, viral and social media, political trends and thought leadership.

"Since our beginning, True Blue Inclusion's made a point of bringing non-traditional and contemporary expertise to our CDO members," added Smith. "We believe that to be highly effective within a company or organization, the CDO needs tools well apart from what's usual for many people in this role."
