Monitoring With Nagios: New Online Training From The Linux Magazine Academy
In partnership with technology business solutions provider Netways, Linux Magazine Academy now offers online training for the Nagios monitoring infrastructure.
Online, November 10, 2010 (Newswire.com) - Over the course of 13 videos, newcomers to IT network monitoring can now obtain comprehensive training in professional monitoring using Nagios. In addition to covering basics such as installation, configuration, and monitoring Linux and Unix computers on the network, the training delivers the comprehensive know-how for add-on programs such as NagVis and Netways' EventDB.
Training is delivered via a clear web interface, with the trainer's monitor shown simultaneously with his or her presentation video. In essence, the trainee has an over-the-shoulder view of the instructor's command-line examples. The trainee can even pause and repeat training sessions at any time.
Linux Magazine (called Linux Pro Magazine in North America) selected Netways IT business solutions provider as its Nagios training partner. The Nuremberg company not only specializes in consulting and training in the open source sphere, but is also active in the free software developer community. Netways has also become internationally renowned for its annual Open Source Monitoring Conference (OSMC) events.
Linux Magazine and the Linux Professional Institute (LPI) announced the Linux Magazine Academy last month. The Academy provides online seminars for the globally recognized LPIC certifications. In cooperation with distribution-independent exam provider LPI, the Linux Magazine Academy is currently offering two courses to prepare for the LPIC-1 exam. LPIC book author and professional trainer Ross Brunson was chosen as the instructor for the courses.
The "Monitoring with Nagios" online training costs 379 Euros. An introductory offer of 299 Euros (US $419 or GB £259) is good up to December 15, 2010. A free demo is available at academy.linux-magazine.com.
