More Is Settling In At Fruitland Plaza Than A Clothing Store

It is a second national retailer with extensive urban-style selections to open recently in Fruitland, behind Citi Trends in the center that houses Big Lots.

When It's Fashion Metro opens in early April, it unveils a new, urban-inspired brand in the region and fills the only vacant retail space at the shopping center that has had its share of gaps since the departure a decade ago of its single occupant, the sprawling Nichols department store.

"This is the last piece of the puzzle as far as filling that retail space in the Plaza; we're 100 percent pleased, and Fruitland is very excited as well," said Salisbury Realtor Brent Miller, managing director at Sperry Van Ness-Miller Commercial Real Estate.

Construction is under way to tailor the 10,232 square-foot space in which It's Fashion Metro intends to be settled by late spring, Miller said, adding that news about job openings and an application process is expected soon.

It's Fashion Metro joins the Food Lion supermarket, Curves women's fitness center, Night Hawk Martial Arts, Beauty World hair products, Master Tax and Business LLC, Aarons, Dollar General and a free-standing Asian restaurant and sushi bar called Lucky Star. The store is a division of the Cato Corp. that also owns Cato Fashions, a women's clothing and accessories value shop with more than 1,000 stores in 31 states, including a Fruitland location off Cedar Lane in the nearby shopping center anchored by Walmart.

It's Fashion Metro offers the latest, trendy selections for the entire family with recognized brands and styles with urban attitude, according to the brand's corporate website.
