Morrissey Hospitality Sets Sights on Its Next 25 Years; Names Richard Dobransky President

Prepares to Open New Downtown St. Paul Offices

Morrissey Hospitality will celebrate its 25th anniversary in 2020 with a strong vision for the future while remaining connected to its roots. Christopher, Arthur, and Elizabeth, the late founder Bill Morrissey’s children, have chosen to continue the legacy of their father for the next 25 years.

As the pre-eminent hospitality company in the Twin Cities, Morrissey Hospitality operates icons such as The Saint Paul Hotel, St. Paul Grill, Pazzaluna Urban Italian Restaurant, Headwaters Café, and the St. Paul RiverCentre. Local favorites such as Tria Restaurant and Bar and Kendall’s Tavern & Chophouse round out our Twin Cities portfolio.

With a sharp eye on its next quarter-century, Morrissey Hospitality is strategically looking at 2020 and beyond with the following announcements:

§  Richard Dobransky was named the third President in the company’s illustrious history. Dobransky has worked with Bill Morrissey in the past and rejoined the company as Director of Strategic Initiatives in 2018.

§  As a testament of our longevity in St. Paul, Morrissey Hospitality will relocate the principle offices to the historic Saint Paul Building on West 5th St in downtown St. Paul in January.

§  As a continued commitment to St. Paul, Morrissey Hospitality will open an easily accessible, centrally located Employee Resource & Benefits Center at the corner of 5th Street and Wabasha, which will be their hub for their employees' needs.

§  Other recent senior promotions include Jeff Wefel to Vice President of Finance and Paula Soderberg to Vice President of Human Resources. Jeff and Paula were instrumental in the development of Morrissey’s Strategic Initiatives.

“Richard is a proven and respected leader in all aspects of hospitality, from guest experience to facilities to food and beverage,” said the Morrissey family. “He presents an excellent vision for our future, and we’re excited to see where he leads us.”

“I am thrilled to lead Morrissey Hospitality into our next 25 years,” Dobransky said. “Our 1,000 dedicated employees will continue to deliver Bill Morrissey’s ‘authentic hospitality’ in all of our properties. Our immediate objective is increasing our family of ‘amazing’ brands while providing continued opportunities for our talented staff and partners.”

Dobransky’s career in hospitality extends nearly 30 years, including senior and executive leadership positions both domestically and internationally with Levy Restaurants, Delaware North Companies, and Australia based Event Hospitality & Entertainment. Dobransky was most recently at Denver’s Historic Union Station.
