Movie App Casts Viewers as the Lead
Online, January 7, 2012 (Newswire.com) - Denver based Dream Maker Films releases The Hero app, compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch devices running on iOS 4.2 or later. The Hero app is a mobile entertainment experience that lets users place themselves in the middle of a real, remarkably filmed action movie within seconds. The app's user-friendly editing tools let users record their own voice and take or select a photo to paste right into the movie, quite literally transforming them from audience member to the film's starring hero. Users can also integrate their own name into the film's credits to give their creation an extra touch of authenticity. The video can be saved or uploaded to YouTube in both SD and HD. See the video preview for The Hero on YouTube at www.youtube.com/theheroapp.
Synopsis: Agent Evan Phoenix (you) and Agent Mike Taylor work at the International Crimes Division (ICD), a small covert government agency which investigates global corporations for corruption, war crimes, and other major international offenses. Currently the ICD is investigating a global peace keeping institution called the PECE Corporation, on charges for corruption and arms deals. As Agent Taylor is planning on resigning from ICD, Nick Hansen, the Director of Operations, puts Agent Phoenix in charge of the investigation. Learning that Agent Taylor may have found incriminating information, the PECE Corporation sends assassins to deal with him.
In keeping with The Hero's theme, the app's stars can create their own personalized ICD Badge from the film's fictional International Crimes Division. This badge can be saved, emailed, and uploaded to facebook. Another feature built in to the app, is the "Tell a Friend" feature which emails a banner and a link to the recipient. In addition, there are links on the app to The Hero merchandise, and The Hero soundtrack, along with links to continue The Hero story online at www.ICDAgency.com, www.GreenLightClub.com, and at www.GlobalPECE.com.
Debbie Sam, consultant and creative writer/entrepreneur said, "It's amazingly creative and genius. THE HERO is very entertaining. It's a very unique and fun approach to becoming a star in your own movie."
Dream Maker Films is currently in production for the second installment to the plot and is considering the right celebrities to guest star in future episodes. Current cast include Air Force One actor Michael Ray Miller as Nick Hansen (Director of Operations at the ICD), and UFC fighter Tyrone Wright as Gwandoya Demissie (a Field Specialist/Assassin for the PECE Corporation).
