New York, April 17, 2015 (Newswire.com) - Ken Sibanda is set to direct "Bloody Rhodesia,' a film that deals with peace efforts of then Rhodesia in 1979.
The script penned by Ken Sibanda will be produced by Proteus Filmworks . Mr. Sibanda is the author of the popular science fiction novel -The Return to Gibraltar. A trained attorney who graduated from the University of London, - Sibanda has penned numerous books both fiction and non-fiction.
‘Bloody Rhodesia,’ whose longline is "peace in our life time" - tells the story of two protagonists, Joshua Nkomo and Robert Mugabe, whose pursuit for independence, much paralleled with the American Revolutionary War of 1775-1783, resulted in a peace treaty in Britain (1979).
"The movie will likely bring to the fore a further understanding of Zimbabwe’s land politics. As well as telling an important dramatic moment in Africa," said Sibanda.
Speaking in his offices in New York, Sibanda elaborated: " The story is a pretty air-tight affair. Here is a country that was involved in a bush War; armed tanks and landlines, that many Americans were not aware ever existed. It is an engaging story, fresh and filled with the sought of stuff movie goers want to see. The drama is human and relevant."
