Moving Labor Services Industry Trade Association Launches, AMLPA
The first trade association for the moving labor services industry, the American Moving Labor Professionals Association, launches today.
Online, October 19, 2009 (Newswire.com) - Ten years ago the moving labor services industry was created and today the first trade association for the industry is launched in hopes of creating industry requirements and consumer awareness.
The American Moving Labor Professionals Association, the AMLPA, is the first non-profit organization dedicated to the providing resources for moving labor companies and information and assistance to consumers. The launch will provide much needed structure to an industry that has yet to conform to a specific set of quality commitments or rules.
The moving labor services industry is a niche market within the moving and storage industry. The primary service is labor for the rapidly growing self service segment and consumers and businesses alike use moving labor companies for loading, unloading, furniture movement, packing and crating. Some full service companies rely on the moving labor services industry for assistance with their moves as well.
"The moving labor services industry has been bending and shaping for many years as the industry has evolved. Today there are no set commitments to quality or regulations that all industry leaders abide to, which should not be the case", comments Brandon Scivolette, the creator of the AMLPA. "In order to unify the industry to establish strength and consumer awareness we must come together and agree on a uniform level of service. There has to be a level of commitment and quality agreed to by industry leaders, once this happens the rest of the industry will follow".
The AMLPA is designed to accomplish three specific tasks. The first, to create a level of quality and ethics that its membership base must abide by. The second, to assist consumers with understanding the industry and locating qualified professionals for their move. Third, to unify the industry professionals and gain market share in an ever increasing competitive market from both full service companies and unlicensed and uninsured day laborers.
A list of certified, non-certified and blacklist companies will be available within the coming weeks on the AMLPA website. The companies mission statement and qualifications for members are also listed and available to the general public.
