MS Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences and TIFAC to Study Technology Gap in Printing Units

TIFAC has engaged MSRUAS to study the technology gap in printing cluster and suggest a sustainable road map to upgrade the printing technology in Mysore.

M.S.Ramaiah University of Applied Science (MSRUAS) has been awarded a consultancy project by - Technology Information, Forecasting and Assessment Council (TIFAC), to carry out “Technology Gap Analysis for the Printing Cluster in Mysore, Karnataka”.

Technology Information, Forecasting and Assessment Council (TIFAC) is an autonomous organization set up in 1988 under the Department of Science & Technology, Govt of India to look ahead in technologies, assess the technology trajectories, and support technology innovation by network actions in select technology areas of national importance

Many printing units still use outdated technology or have invested in expensive economically unsustainable technology. We aim to bridge this gap by providing a viable technology solution to the printing cluster in Mysore

The broad objective of the project is to conduct a study of the printing units to understand the present printing technology process, existing technological gaps, and cause of the existing technological gaps and to suggest remedial measures for sustainability in the market with a suitable intervention action road map for upgrading the technology of the industry cluster. MSRUAS as a Knowledge Partner appointed by TIFAC, has proposed to carry out a complete survey to identify the present process and also subsequently conduct an awareness program by the 30th April 2015. MSRUAS will carry out a data analysis and create a detailed report for TIFAC.
