MEDIA DARLING FREE
JOINS BIG TIGGER TO HOST
MORNING SHOW ON D.C.'S TOP RATED WPGC - 95.5 FM

Washington, DC - Today, much-loved television and radio personality, Free, joined her long-time colleague Big Tigger to co-host WPGC - 95.5 FM's ever popular morning show. The Big Tigger Morning Show with Free can be heard weekdays from 6 to 10 AM in the Greater Washington, D.C./Baltimore, MD area. WPGC's VP of Urban Programming, Reggie Rouse is happy to have Free on board and says, "Free is a household name from her years on BET's 106 & Park. The Big Tigger Morning Show with Free is set to help take WPGC to another level. Samuel V. Rogers, WPGC's Senior VP/Market Manager, added, "we're thrilled to be able to pair someone with Free's unique style of entertainment with one of D.C.'s most established talents in Big Tigger. We anticipate Washingtonians will embrace this show for years to come." In addition to the weekday morning program, Free will broadcast her "Freesworld Entertainment Report" during Street Corner Media/Premiere Radio's internationally syndicated weekend program, Live in the Den with Big Tigger.

Free first burst onto the worldwide scene in 2000 as one of the original hosts of BET's video countdown show, 106 & Park. For five years she, along with co-host AJ Calloway, helped catapult the program to top ratings. During her tenure at 106 Free interviewed superstars including Michael Jackson, Tom Cruise, Denzel Washington and Halle Berry and firmly cemented her place in pop culture, as well as in the hearts of millions of fans. Free used her visibility and voice to launch the Free4Life Foundation, which raised significant funds to help empower young people in disadvantaged areas via arts, literacy and financial education programs.

After departing BET in 2005 with a wealth of experience, Free took some time away from show business to be with her family. She then went on to co-host radio programs in Los Angeles and New York City and co-produced BET's top rated 106 & Park 10th anniversary special, which aired in October, 2010. Last year she also launched a website, www.FreesWorld.com, which is growing in reach and influence by the day. Free has established a major social media presence and was recently named one of the "100 Most Powerful Black Women on Twitter" for the second year in a row. At the same time, she works with various non-profit organizations, such as the YMCA and Department of Youth Services, in cities across the country, and has become a sought after speaker, having done hundreds of engagements at various colleges and universities including Harvard, Colorado State and Salem State.

Free, who is also in development on a number of other projects, is elated to be back in broadcasting full time and about joining the WPGC family and her friend Big Tigger. He shares her sentiments and says, "I'm extremely excited to be working with someone of Free's caliber. She will bring a wealth of life experiences and a female flavor to the show." About her latest venture Free says, "I'm so thankful to both PGC and Tigger for giving me this opportunity to do what I care about most - connecting with people on a daily basis. I love doing radio and have always been intrigued by D.C.'s history and culture, so it's a match made in heaven."
