Mulberry Manor Participates in 2016 Weatherford Walk to End Alzheimer's

STEPHENVILLE, TEXAS, November 7, 2016 (Newswire.com) - At Weatherford College – Roger Williams Ballpark, Mulberry Manor took part in the community’s annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s. The purpose of the walk is to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s research in hopes of finding a cure.

Mulberry Manor’s staff took part in the walk by putting a team together to walk the two miles to do their part in taking a stand against Alzheimer’s. Mulberry Manor’s team, Mulberry Magic, had a goal of raising $400 and raised over $500. Donna Hutcheson, the Administrator at Mulberry Manor said this was the first year the staff participated in the walk.

“We had a great turn out,” Hutcheson said. “We had a great team of staff and even had a former employee and her sister join us and walk.”

Hutcheson said Mulberry Manor plans to have a team again next year and attempt to raise even more money for the cause. She also said they plan to set up a booth and hand out flyers to inform the community and seniors in the community of upcoming events taking place at the facility.

“It feels great getting to come together with our community for a greater cause,” Hutcheson said. “It’s important to us at Mulberry Manor to support our friends in the community and get involved.”
