Murus Building Products Earn Forest Stewardship Certification
Online, October 5, 2011 (Newswire.com) - The Murus Company, Inc. announced that it has earned Forest Stewardship CouncilĀ® (FSC) Chain of Custody certification from Scientific Certification Systems, one of the world's leading FSC certifiers. FSC provides third-party certification confirming that materials sold as FSC certified are harvested from well-managed forest operations.
The Murus Company can now incorporate FSC certified oriented strand board in its Structural Insulated Panels. The new certification contributes valuable points for end users striving for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification for their building projects. The FSC certified structural insulating panels are eligible for the MR7 certified wood credit under the LEED program.
