MusicBreeds Nonprofit in Massapequa Hits a High Note With Notable New Board Members at the Helm
MASSAPEQUA, N.Y., January 19, 2021 (Newswire.com) - MusicBreeds is pleased to announce its new board of directors, whose backgrounds from a variety of industries, will help catapult the vision of the organization founded by singer/songwriter, Isaiah Grigg. MusicBreeds was born out of Grigg's own story when as a child, he was consumed with the desire to play music on his Casio keyboard but unable to afford lessons. MusicBreeds offers middle and high school musicians from underserved backgrounds with holistic mentoring and development training. It is the first of its kind for disadvantaged kids in Nassau and Suffolk counties — launching its 2021 cohort online, Feb. 1, 2021. Open enrollment begins Jan. 25, 2021 at www.MusicBreeds.org.
"We set out to cultivate young musicians holistically, by empowering their musical discovery, and by teaching them life skills, financial literacy, music business and habits that promote sustainability, as well as the mental and wellness aspects of growth," says MusicBreeds Founder and Executive Director, Isaiah Grigg.
The new board members ready to support Grigg's mission include: Hervé Tessler, the former Corporate Executive VP & President of International Operations at Xerox; Sadia Hasan, Chief Technical Staff Advisor & Director of Product at Lyft; Chris Reed, the Senior Event Coordinator at TD Securities; Kevin Cassidy, Partner at SeatonHill; and Wendi Huestis, Chief Fundraising and Marketing Officer.
"I was drawn to MusicBreeds because of the commitment of its founder, the passion of its instructors/mentors and success of its students. MusicBreeds is life-transforming and I'm honored to serve as a board member," states Kevin Cassidy.
"I am excited and honored to join the board of MusicBreeds. I was impressed by its founder's passion and commitment to change the lives and support the success of its students," states Hervé Tessler.
In addition to its new board members, MusicBreeds is striking a good chord with volunteers who are joining the ranks to bring their professional skillsets to the program as mentors. In concert with boosting their volunteer staff, MusicBreeds is campaigning to raise $150,000 in funds to upgrade software and hardware and make capital improvements to their brick-and-mortar facility which includes a recording studio, stage, wellness room, living room, reception area and meeting room—with enhanced COVID protocols.
"The limitations I experienced at an early age underscore my drive to help youth expand on their potential and make their dreams a reality — one artist at a time," adds Grigg.
