The event will be held at The Napa Valley Expo, Chardonnay Hall (575 3rd Street) in Napa, CA and will benefit Arts Council Napa Valley's Arts Education Programs. A destination that should not be missed, this Wine Country is the most widely visited Valleys in the country as a wine and dining epicenter mecca, and event producer James Byrum says that "we plan to turn this valley into a music mecca as well." Event is sponsored by 1440 KVON & 99.3 THE VINE, Reggae Festival Guide magazine and Ozcat Vallejo Community Radio.
$20 advance tickets are available at several Napa retail outlets: Wildcat Clothing 1210 1st Street; Flying Colors Tattoo 3373 California Blvd; Grapeleaf Graphics 2203 Jefferson Street; Bloom Salon 1519 Main Street, and online at www.brownpapertickets.com. Tickets are $25 at the door. Arts Council Napa Valley members who show their membership card, get advance ticket price. Kids under 12 free.
The doors are at 4pm, and the non-stop dance music goes from 4:30pm to 11pm. This all-ages event will be fun for the whole family with Caribbean food, Rasta arts & crafts vendors, wine and beer garden, plus a raffle for a chance to win a hot air balloon ride.
Headlining the show is Barbadian singer, songwriter DAVID KIRTON. His newest album 'Time for Change' got three nods from the Barbados Music Awards winning Reggae Artist of Year, Reggae Song of Year and Best video with his hot track "Green Camouflage". Miami's Caribbean Today wrote, "Kirton has struck the right chord. He brings to the marketplace a refreshingly unique aura---satisfying the mainstream audience, especially those who crave something new." The UK's Sunday Mercury's Paul Cole wrote 'Already a triple award-winner in the Caribbean, the new album from Barbadian balladeer Kirton has the crossover appeal to break him big in the mainstream charts'. The Canadian National Campus Review backed that up with 'He (Kirton) has busted out of the box with this, his third album, by blending elements of reggae, soul, rock and pop into a contemporary yet natural sound, which he then delivers with his exotically smooth, soul dipped voice'.
Award-winning Belizean Reggae/Dancehall artist, RAS INDIO, continues to put Belizeans on the international musical map. Spreading positive vibes worldwide with his unique lyrical delivery combined with an energetic stage presence, he is guaranteed to light up the stage and ignite the Napa Valley crowd. His musical style mixes traditional African elements with the hardcore sound of Roots Reggae---lyrically filled with Inspirational messages of truth and righteousness.
ISHI DUBE is a talented and determined artist with a profound love for reggae music. On stage, Dube doesn't miss a beat; he gives a sincere, energetic, and uplifting performance. Not only a singer/ songwriter, Dube is also a skilled producer, musician, and sound engineer, involved in nearly every process of production from the roots to the fruits. Dube's natural talent and hard work are sure to gain notoriety in the world of reggae music. ROCKER T will make a guest appearance along with Ishi---a gifted multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, composer, DJ, performer, producer, MC, and his innovative and dynamic musical style of singing and chanting Ska, Reggae, and Hip-Hop is a musical amalgamation term that has come to be known as 'sing-jay.'
