Natasha Solomons To Host 3rd Literati Book Club At Grosvenor House, A JW Marriot Hotel

This July Grosvenor House, A JW Marriott Hotel, will be hosting the third Literati - The Grosvenor House Book Club.

Grosvenor House is delighted to announce that screenwriter and author, Natasha Solomons, has been confirmed to present her first novel, Mr. Rosenblum's List, on July 15th 2010. Excitingly, this will mark the one of the first events in Natasha's quest to break the world record for most book events attended by an author in a year. The charming story of Mr. Rosenblum's List holds immense word-of-mouth appeal and is ideally suited for reading groups, so July's Literati promises to be a highly entertaining evening and a lovely way to support Natasha's record attempt.

Taking the traditional book club idea one step further, Grosvenor House has collaborated with leading publishing house Hodder & Stoughton on Literati. Rather than just bringing people together to discuss a book, Literati will host a regular stream of authors who will lead a discussion of their latest book with hotel and external residents.

The book club launched on in January when the first lady of broadcast journalism, Kate Adie, discussed her latest book, Into Danger, with guests. The second event was held on April 13th 2010 hosted by the much-admired author and radio presenter Libby Purves. Libby discussed her latest novel Shadow Child. With other authors within the Hodder stable including John Humphrys, Alan Titchmarsh, Simon King on the non-fiction side, and Peter Robinson, Gerald Seymour, David Mitchell, Jasper Fforde, it offers little doubt that Literati at Grosvenor House will continue to showcase a broad variety of literary luminaries throughout 2010.

Literati is open to hotel guests and non-residents, encouraging dialogue and informal networking within an unpressurised environment. For a minimal cost, which will include drinks, canapes and a copy of the author's latest book, guests will have a chance to interact directly with some of the UK's most prolific literary icons from crime writers to chick lit, biographies to comedy.

Speaking about Literati, General Manager Anthony Stewart-Moore, comments, "We believe this concept will succeed in engaging our guests beyond the confines of room service, is entertaining and will encourage greater interaction. Our community relations are also important hence Literati will be open to anybody who is interested in the subject or author. At present we want to run them quarterly, but with its success we are hoping this will increase with time and we can do monthly literature nights."

Commenting on behalf of Hodder & Stoughton, Kerry Hood, Publicity Director, added, "We are constantly looking to push the boundaries within the publishing world and we recognised that Grosvenor House had proposed a new concept. By engaging authors and enabling them to interact directly with the public, we believe that Literati will open up debate around literature and we are delighted to be supporting this industry first."
