National Association of Minority Contractors Announces Its 46th National Conference

National Association of Minority Contractors (NAMC) is excited to announce the details of their 46th National Conference, which will be held from June 17, 2015 to June 19, 2015 at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, NV.

National Association of Minority Contractors (NAMC) is excited to announce the details of their 46th National Conference, which will be held from June 17, 2015 to June 19, 2015 at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, NV.  This year’s conference activities include NAMC Golf Tournament, Welcome Reception, Women in Construction Luncheon, Workshops, NAMC Night Out, Legacy Luncheon, Trade Fair, as well as the Hall of Fame Gala.

“We are pleased to welcome everyone to Las Vegas, Nevada for NAMC’s 46th National Conference,” states Tim Brooks, President of NAMC Nevada.  “With unemployment on the decline and new building on the rise, Las Vegas is the perfect location to celebrate the rebounding construction market.”

Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada (RTC) joins NAMC as this year’s Co-Chair and Community Builder Partner.  RTC is one of the few agencies in the country that manages roadway design and funding, public transit, traffic management, and transportation planning, all under one roof.  As the transportation planning organization for Southern Nevada, the RTC works with the local municipalities to plan, fund and launch infrastructure projects that improve Southern Nevada’s roads and transportation options.

"We are very pleased to have RTC as Community Builder Partner and Co-Chair of our 46th National Conference.  Transportation represents one of NAMC's key advocacy and contracting initiatives. RTC, under the leadership of Tina Quigley, is to be commended for their innovative approach to inclusion of small, diverse and women businesses,” states Gloria Shealey, President of NAMC National.

Recognized as one of the most efficient transit systems in the U.S., RTC Transit carries more than 60 million passengers a year with a fleet of nearly 400 vehicles. The RTC is also responsible for one of the country’s first integrated Intelligent Transportation Systems.  An efficient and effective transportation system that promotes mobility is a key driver to an economically vibrant community.

“We continue to work collectively with RTC in identifying business opportunities for NAMC Nevada members,” stated JD Calhoun, Consultant for NAMC Nevada.  “Partners like RTC enable NAMC members and other minority and women-owned businesses to succeed and thrive in the new economy.”

This year's conference theme, "Empowered to Succeed in a New Economy - Building the Future Today" reflects the robust, engaging and transforming experience that will elevate attendees to new heights in building relationships, pursuing opportunities, expanding market presence and broadening resources and information to be "Best in Class".
