National Association of Minority Contractors Announces the Installation of Its New Board of Directors

The National Association of Minority Contractors (NAMC) announces the installation of its new Board of Directors. The 2015-2016 NAMC National Officers are Mr. Wendell Stemley, President; Ms. Kaye Gantt, Executive Vice President; Ms. Sharon Coleman, Treasurer; and Ms. Rosalind Styles, Secretary.

​The National Association of Minority Contractors (NAMC) announces the installation of its new Board of Directors. The 2015-2016 NAMC National Officers are Mr. Wendell Stemley, President; Ms. Kaye Gantt, Executive Vice President; Ms. Sharon Coleman, Treasurer; and Ms. Rosalind Styles, Secretary. New National Board members were sworn in by the Honorable Judge Eric Johnson, Eighth Judicial Court of the State of Nevada, in front of hundreds of conference attendees and guests at the grand finale black-tie event of the NAMC 46th National Conference, the Hall of Fame Gala and Dance on June 19, 2015.

NAMC held the successful 46th National Conference at the stunning Caesars Palace Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, NV. Under this year’s theme of “Empowered to Succeed in a New Economy – Building the Future Today,” the conference started on June 17, 2015 with NAMC’s Golf Tournament and concluded with the Hall of Fame Gala and Dance on June 19, 2015. Minority contracting and development business leaders and major corporate partners from across the country attended. Aaron Ford, Nevada Senate Minority Leader, and Lawrence Weekly, Clark County Commissioner, extended a warm welcome during their remarks.

Top conference partners for the event included Caesars Entertainment, MGM Resorts International, Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada, and Wells Fargo. In addition to educational workshops, a women in construction focused luncheon, and a bustling trade fair, the conference concluded with a grand black-tie Hall of Fame Gala and Dance where The Honorable Michael Blake, Assemblyman for the 79th District of New York, delivered the keynote address.

The National Association of Minority Contractors is a non-profit trade association founded in Oakland, California in 1969 by Raymond Dones and Joseph Debro. NAMC’s goal is to educate their members, major corporate partners, workers, and communities to maintain a voice in Washington, DC about the needs of minority contractors, and to increase the market share of those companies in the construction industry.
