National Kicking Service Celebrates 25th Year Of Kicking Camps

National Kicking Service enters its 25th year as one of footballs most respected authorities on Special Team Skills and kicking camps.

National Kicking Service enters its 25th year as one of footballs most respected authorities on Special Team Skills and kicking camps. In that time, NKS has worked with thousands and thousands of football kickers, punters and long snappers from around the world seeking to reach their potential in three of the most demanding individual skills within a team sport.

Although NKS program participants include National Football League players such as Jeff Reed (Pittsburgh Steelers, S.F. 49ers, etc.), and Matt Prater (Denver Broncos), as well as numerous College and High School All Americans, National Kicking Service is not an elitist program where staff members cater only to those who, at the time, may be performing at a higher level than others. Individual and personal attention has always been number one at NKS. All players receive a great deal of assistance from a staff that genuinely cares. Also, NKS is not just a camp that comes and goes leaving players without follow up.

NKS Director Gene Muriaty and the entire NKS staff are available to its kickers, punters, and long snappers year round for skill advice, video analysis, college recruitment assistance, etc. It's all part of the National Kicking Service experience and, of course, it's free. The feedback from players, parents, and coaches through the years has been very gratifying.

National Kicking Services' summer instructional football kicking camps, punting camps, and long snapping camps are authentic full length overnight professional style camps. Each kicking camp is three days and two nights of field sessions (seven full field sessions), extra individual help sessions, class room meetings on all aspects of training specific for each skill, video analysis, optional college recruitment meeting, etc. The training tables are always "all you can eat".

The overnight camps provide so much more than a limited "day camp" format. The camps also offer a taste of collegiate life at some of the finest colleges and universities in the nation. The experience lends itself to more interaction with coaches and players alike and a special camaraderie within the special teams positions. Day campers still benefit greatly from the extended sessions and meetings. A frequent remark heard from campers is "....this camp is a blast!"

National Kicking Services' groundbreaking Biomechanics Training Program cuts through the myths, misconceptions, and all of the "misguided" coaching that continues today. The concepts and training practices are taught by veteran NKS staff such as the legendary Bob Baker, NKS West Coast Director Jim Power, Florida Director Ken Hensley, the renowned Jeff Dinnocenti, special teams wizard Bobby Prichard, NKS Director Gene Muriaty etc. and active players such as Rob Long, Syracuse, Jay Wooten, South Carolina, Camp Counselor Jeremy Shelley, Alabama, Ryan Quigley, Boston College, Michael Hughes, San Diego State to name just a few.

National Kicking Service utilizes campsites that have been training camp homes for the National Football League New York Giants, Dallas Cowboys, New England Patriots, Atlanta Falcons, and Baltimore Ravens as well as the UCLA Football Bruins, and USFL Baltimore Stars and Boston Breakers. NKS has always sought out the very best venues for its programs.

After a quarter of a century National Kicking Service is running stronger than ever thanks to the dedicated and selfless staff and players who give it their all. NKS always remembers its roots and the importance of the individual whether an All American or beginner.
