National Leader in Educational Child Care, Primrose Schools®, Makes New Jersey Debut

Warren, NJ (INSERT DATE) - Primrose Schools (www.primroseschools.com), the nation's leader in educational child care with more than 240 schools nationwide, will make its flagship entrance into New Jersey on Jan. 23 with the opening of the Primrose School of Warren. Located at 117 Mt. Bethel Road, this school is part of the company's overall growth strategy to open six to 10 schools in the market over the next five years.

Burt Eng and Linda Chen, a local husband-and-wife team and owners of the Primrose School of Warren, were first introduced to Primrose while exploring early childhood care options for their infant son. Although the couple fell in love with Primrose after extensive research, they were disappointed to learn that there were no Primrose Schools in the state of New Jersey. Rather than considering a lesser alternative, the couple decided to bring a Primrose School to New Jersey themselves.

The Primrose School of Warren will offer the Balanced Learning® curriculum, which considers multiple aspects of growth and learning: social, emotional, physical and cognitive. Developed by and taught exclusively at Primrose Schools, Balanced Learning is based on national core standards and blends teacher-directed and child-initiated activities with a special emphasis on character development.

Primrose Schools has evaluated students' progress and the effectiveness of the curriculum for the past six years using the Bracken Assessment. The results show that Primrose students perform at about twice the level of their peers, and show 1.3 times more yearly growth than their peers in concept mastery by the end of the school year.

"We chose Primrose because we wanted the best for our son," said Eng. "When we found out there wasn't a Primrose nearby, we just had to open our own school so we could share the incredible Balanced Learning curriculum with other families in the area."

The 11,800 square foot Primrose School of Warren has already positively impacted the local economy by adding 20-25 new jobs, and $3 million in project costs. The school will feature 11 private classrooms with state-of-the-art wireless technology. Outside, seven separate and secure age-appropriate playgrounds accommodate each stage of the children's early development with equipment specifically designed to help them develop and grow their gross motor skills. Children also develop their fine motor skills in the Primrose Patch - a garden on the school's property.

As safety is a top priority, the new school also features the official Primrose Schools Safe School Plan, which provides guidelines to ensure ongoing safety measures are in place and parents as well as staff members are prepared for any kind of emergency. A password-protected website keeps parents informed of the emergency procedures and any critical information in the case of a situation requiring immediate attention at the school.

To introduce the Primrose School of Warren to the community, a
Grand Opening celebration will be hosted on Saturday, Jan. 28. The celebration will feature a ribbon cutting ceremony at 10:00 a.m. followed by a Chinese Lion Dance to help ring in the Chinese New Year. The Chinese Lion Dance, to be performed by local children, holds special meaning for Eng and Chen who both previously lived in New York City's iconic China Town.
