National Stripper Well Association Names Dave Murfin as Executive Board Chairman

The National Stripper Well Association (NSWA, www.nswa.us) announces the appointment of Kansas' David Murfin as its 2010/2011 Chairman of the NSWA Executive Board of Directors. Murfin is president of Murfin Drilling Co., Inc. of Wichita.

Oklahoma City, OK, The National Stripper Well Association (NSWA, www.nswa.us) is proud to announce the appointment of Kansas' David Murfin as its 2010/2011 Chairman of the NSWA Executive Board of Directors. Murfin currently serves as president of Murfin Drilling Company, Inc. and chairman and CEO of Murfin, Inc., both based in Wichita, Kanasas, but include numerous diverse business operations.

"We are so pleased to have Dave serve the National Stripper Well Association membership in this capacity," says Dewey Bartlett, Jr., Tulsa Mayor and immediate past-chairman for NSWA. "Dave is passionate about the issues facing the 'Mom and Pop' oil and natural gas producers, and we know that he will ensure NSWA's voice is heard and interests represented in Washington DC - as well as in the 35 states where stripper and marginal wells are actively producing resources for our country."

Murfin Drilling Company is a leading stripper well production and oil well drilling company which opened its doors in 1926 and in 2008, ranked number one for oil production in Kansas. Murfin Inc. also owns Murphy Tractor & Equipment Co., Inc., the John Deere industrial equipment dealer for the four-state area of Kansas, Nebraska, Missouri, and Iowa, in addition to 10 radio stations and has extensive real estate holdings.

Murfin was Co-CEO of the co-registrant for the IPO of NYSE-listed MV Oil Trust (MVO), a royalty trust owning net profit interests primarily in Kansas stripper oil wells. In addition to his new role with NSWA, Murfin serves on the National Petroleum Council and as Vice Chairman of the Kansas Chamber of Commerce. Murfin is also a member of the Kansas University School of Business Board of Advisors and a Trustee for the Kansas University Endowment Board. A former President of Kansas Independent Oil and Gas Association, Murfin has previously held the position of Chairman of the National Liaison Committee of Cooperating Oil and Gas Associations, served as a member of Independent Petroleum Association of America's Board of Directors for many years (term limited out), and was a founding member of the Kansas Heart Hospital, serving on its Board of Directors.

A graduate from Kansas University in 1975, Murfin holds bachelor's degrees in mechanical engineering and business.
