Native Mac Client for LabStats Released

Computer Lab Solutions released a native Mac client for the LabStats software. The new Mac client runs independently of Mono, which improves the reliability of reporting for Mac OS computers.

Computer Lab Solutions released a native Mac client for their LabStats software to replace their previous non-native client, which relied upon a third party to run the client. The new Mac client is not dependent on a third party, which improves the reliability of reporting for Mac OS computers.

Previously, Mac users had to run LabStats though the third party emulator called Mono so they could run ASP.NET PC code on their Mac OS computer, which meant that they had to install Mono before installing the LabStats client. Because Computer Lab Solutions doesn't have any control over Mono, Mac users were always in danger of Mono developers changing something that breaks Computer Lab Solution's code. Requiring Mac users to go through a third party sometimes made general usage laborious.

Computer Lab Solutions promised the native client to users in August and have worked hard to write the new client. They rewrote the client in a language that runs natively on MACs so clients no longer have to use Mono. Eliminating Mono makes the software easier to use because clients won't have to worry about changes and upsets that can be caused by changes to Mono. The new native client also improves reliability.
