NaturalHealthcare.ca Announces the Student's Guide to Natural Health Training

Online, November 22, 2010 (Newswire.com) - pixcode, the development team behind NaturalHealthcare.ca, is pleased to announce a new project that fills a gap in the Complementary and Alternative health care sector: the Student's Guide to Natural Health Training.

Part directory of schools, part business and career handbook, the Guide takes into account the specific needs of those who pursue training in this industry - many of whom come to it as a second or even third career path. Training facilities vary from small, one-program schools to multi-national institutions with multiple campuses and programs. Currently, there is no single Canadian resource that covers this field, province by province, modality by modality.

Why now? Natural health care is a growing sector - a recent Ipsos Reid poll found that 97% of 65-85 year olds are trying to be proactive with their health, combined with the fact that we are experiencing a demographic shift, with Baby-Boomers heading into their retirement years.

Additionally, there has been a steady increase in the use of complementary and alternative therapies in the past decade, with more than 40% of Canadians reporting using some form of natural therapy (as per the Holistic Health Research Foundation). This has created a demand for skilled professionals who can help them maintain their mental and physical health and stave off the effects of aging.

The Guide will be available for free both online and in print, with the web version of the directory going live in January, in advance of the print version being distributed in late April and early May 2011.
