Nebraska Regional Interoperable Network (NRIN) Uses MOAT to Improve Information Sharing & Accountabi

Online, November 2, 2011 (Newswire.com) - The Nebraska Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and Communications Services Inc. (CSI) are engaged in creating and building the Nebraska Regional Interoperability Network (NRIN). The network is designed to connect the Public Safety Answering Points (PSAPs) and dispatch centers across Nebraska's eight state regions.
A project this complex requires continuous coordination and secure information-sharing between NEMA, the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO), CSI, sub-contractors and key personnel in each of the eight local communication regions. NEMA and CSI chose Awareity's web-based MOAT (Managed Ongoing Awareness and Trust) platform to keep all parties informed and ensure ongoing communications and situational awareness. MOAT empowers project administrators to upload and assign custom reports regarding site assessments, ground testing, structural analysis, tower mapping and other information appropriate personnel and responders need to eliminate duplicated efforts and ensure better results.
Once a region's assessments are complete, the reports from the assessments must be shared with appropriate regional members, as well as key personnel from NEMA, OCIO and CSI. MOAT ensures only those authorized to view the updated reports are notified and receive the information. Authorized users have secure and mobile access to the reports and can then review the information, acknowledge their receipt and document their understanding.
"MOAT provides us a quick and efficient way to share regional reports with team members and ensure all authorized personnel understand critical project information," said CSI Vice President, Henry Vargas. "MOAT also allows us to track and document all report acknowledgements and collaborate easily across the state in one secure location."
