There is big demand for Lavaa Lashes products internationally, and CEO and Founder Atousa Ahmadzadi is pledging ten percent of all sales proceeds to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. ​​​​​​​Ahmadzadi credits her Persian lineage for her natural lashes and eye for design.  Her success story is a testament to her perseverance in the face of adversity.  She grew up in Denmark and arrived in the United States when she was 18.  After a major business setback with her restaurant business, she founded what would her most successful venture, the wildly-popular Lavaa Lashes brand.  

Ahmadzadi had worked in the restaurant industry for close to a decade.  She started as a waitress and worked her way up the ranks, ultimately becoming the restaurant’s owner in 2014. Due to a tough set of circumstances in her restaurant’s lease, she had to close her restaurant and move on from the industry after many years of hard work. Pondering her next move, Ahmadzadi recalled her enjoyment of serving customers and the compliments they often gave her about her movie-star eyelashes. This inspired her to pursue a fresh start in this new industry she has a particularly keen eye for.

Since founding Lavaa Lashes, Ahmadzadi has found her stride as an entrepreneur.  Her unique, trend setting eyelash styles have become increasingly popular overseas as well as stateside.  

“Losing one business, only to open another a few months later is hard work,” said Ahmadzadi,  “I’m amazed how something as simple as thick, beautiful lashes helps women feel more confident and self-assured. I never expected it to take off quite like this.”

  • Her signature collection includes 12 styles ranging from Flirty to Badass and Heartbreaker. They cost $30 each, and can be worn about 30 times.

  • Within weeks of launch Lavaa Lashes reached over 20K followers on Instagram, over 14K followers on Facebook.  More than a thousand Lavaa Lashes products were quickly snapped up by customers across the Middle East, Europe and the Americas.

  • 10 percent of Lavaa Lashes’ sales are donated to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

Serving as both chief executive and chief designer, Ahmadzadi created many unique styles and spent months selecting high-quality, ethical suppliers of fine furs. The mink fur used in her products come from animals that are kindly cared for and are allowed to shed fur naturally. She ensured that the animals lived in humane conditions with proper space, nutrition and veterinary attention.
