New AIDS Memoir by Author David J Cooper Confronts Effects of HIV on Close Friendship

It is a true story about two friends who discover they have AIDS. One takes his doctor's advice and survives. The other one doesn't accept that he is infected and retreats into his own world of drugs, partying and male prostitution, so suffers the consequences.
The truth is confronted and the story tells of the effects of this disease on close friendships.

The story draws on David's experience with AIDS sufferers and it is written from personal experience and how this disease affected his personal life.

"I was a nurse in England and worked with patients with AIDS, but it's a very different story when a very close friend becomes infected with the disease," he said. "I was also inspired to write the book by another close friend of mine who is also infected," he continued, "however, he is still alive because he too his doctor's advice and looks after himself."

David J Cooper was born and grew up in the West Midlands, England. He became involved in politics and was elected as a member of Walsall Metropolitan Borough Council in 1980 He served as a member of the Labour Party from 1980 t0 1981.

He moved to Brixham, Devon in 1988.

He moved to Mexico in 1998 where he still lives and works as an English teacher.

In his free time he enjoys walking his dog and travelling around Mexico. He also lies to watch programs about the paranormal.
He has been married twice and has a daughter, Faye, by his first marriage.

He now lives alone with his dog, Chula.
