New Algorithm Ensures Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Benefits Google's Pay Per Click Adwords
Online, October 13, 2011 (Newswire.com) - Google has changed its advertising program. In the past, sites were ranked based on their popularity, they will now be more scrutinized with regards to content. Keyword relevance and landing page qualities will now impact how ads are ranked. The new algorithm will determine a new quality score for a page.
The quality score of an ad determines it's visibility within Google and the same cost the advertiser pays per click. Keywords and landing pages are not the only points that affect a page's score. In the past ads were limited to a total of six links, now they will be able to host up to ten links.
Google has implemented the adword campaign to facilitate social media marketing. Adwords will soon be able to be combined with a social marketing effort by including visual ads and video ads along side of normal text advertisements. There are over 40% of searches being done via mobile devices. As Google develops their overall mobile device coverage, they have modified how adwords appear within searches on devices. The businesses using Google adwords will have the option integrate locations to their listings. As a potential customer completes a search in their area, the businesses matching these keywords closest to their location will be deemed most relevant.
Internet marketing expert Joel Goldstein of the Peer Marketing Group states "The use of search engine optimization (SEO) for a pay per click adwords campaign is underestimated. We have been seeing a large variation between website landing pages that are search engine optimized and those that are not. The non-optimized sites are much more costly to advertise and therefore we have moved most of our pay per click clients into a more complete online marketing system that includes search engine optimization and social media efforts."
